The Rural Arts Museum is a collection of buildings that hold the stories, artifacts and memories of central Wisconsin. There are several buildings including a depot, one-room schoolhouse, log cabin and the main exhibit building. This is a family friendly museum. While children are asked to respect the exhibits, they are invited to explore.
Current info on hours and visiting the museum can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/RuralArtsMuseum.
The Museum is open the 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month or by appointment.
The main museum building hosts a series of rooms that depict "Main Street" life in a rural town. There are vignettes of dentist and doctor offices, a bank, a millinery, and many others.
The main building also houses a collection of carriages, machinery and tools for trades like cheese-making, ice-cutting and logging.
